My love for photography began with the birth of my daughter or soon after. I wanted pictures to document this little human that had taken over my life. The husband and I weren't ready to put out hundreds of dollars on a professional photographer so we did what any cheap new parent would do...we took her to Olan Mills. The pictures were cute but I knew that I could do better if only I had the proper equipment. So for my 31st birthday the husband surprised me with a Canon Rebel XS. I was thrilled. Then I opened up the box grabbed the instruction manual and was instantly horrified. How the hell was I going to be able to learn how to work this thing. So I went on Amazon and ordered the Dummies book. That helped but I'm more of a 'learn by watching' kind of girl. So I took a few cheap online classes.
So here we are a year and half later. I know a lot more about my camera but definitely not everything. I want to get to know my camera like I know the back of my hand. So I am taking yet another class...but this one from a local community college. I am committing myself 100% to learning the art of photography. My goal is to make something of myself by doing what I love. This summer I was given a little kick in that direction. I was laid off from a job that I hated. So here I am trying to make the best out of a crappy situation. I get to spend extra time with my daughter and learn something that I love.
So, here goes nothing. I'm putting myself out there for all of you to see and critique. Let me know what you think. I still have a lot of learning to do but everyone needs to start somewhere. This is where I haven chosen to begin my journey...wish me luck!!
xoxo,
Crystal
